Default Hiper Type-R 580W PSU - US Version

BigAkita has a new review up on a US VERSION for the Hiper 580W PSU that Jonny English previously reviewed. North Americans rejoice! A new choice for a quality PSU has arrived!

Check it out here.

No surprise in the detailed review and I am glad to hear that the NA version is as good as the Euro version.
The cables look to be a lot less stiff than the X-Connects too, is this true?
Reason being is I think I want my next rig to be of the SFF or HTPC variety (since I don't have my humongous case down here yet, still in Iowa).

As always another thorough review BA. Those PSUs both look have a really nice look to them. The fact that they are quiet with all the open area speaks well of the quality of the product and construction. What I like is the fact that the 80mm fan runs after shut down. That is a nice additional feature.

Good review bro...
I have a question though....
With the 12 volt testing...is it possible to get a little more data?
Can you really push this puppy? Hook up a few more 12 volt pieces like the average modders case...And see how high you can get her to post with increased voltage on the CPU...I am curious to see how it stacks up to the testing done on the Ultras and the OCZ Powerstream...

I know its a solid PSU...and looks good too....But does it overclock well?

Also did you notice anywhere inside where the 12volt rails might be adjustable? Any pots inside?

godfoot: Yes, very flexible.
Jonny: It still can't touch that review you did. Your writing was excellent, I wish we could get more stuff to you.
Foe: Now you know what it looks like. I'll have the Black one shipped to you ASAP.
DW: I would love to have had the time, maybe when I get some slack. I had to jump right into another review that nobody else has done. We always love to be first out of the box with items. I will say that running normal and running under load didn't cause it to even blink.

So I can look forward to the big dog running some more extensive testing after his current review maybe?
The market for PSU's that have good OC capabilty and adjustable rails is getting slim....
And there aren't any that are modular yet to my knowledge...
So that could be a first...
Just curious as you have the gear to push it a little and see what happens...
They could really make a big name if they can hang in the OCZ / TRUE POWER market....
Since they won't touch the Power Cooling stuff...

Good review, im not sure im all for the flashy stuff. I use the OCZ modstream in my computer and I thought that was a shame, I couldnt bare using this one. (no window).

You cant have the bling and not show it off!!

Hiper was dealing with two other companies to carry their product in the U.S., but haven't come to an agreement yet. I am at work so I don't have the email naming the two companies. I know they aren't ones we commonly use. As far as I know FrozenCPU is it for right now.

Smile Hiper Type R 580 Watt PSU

I've reciently bought a Red Label Hiper Type R-580. I would sure like to have a paint job on my Z-28 like the red Hiper psu has! So far no problems, except when setting up the psu prior to instalation. I had a hard time with some of the screw on connectors. It seems the threads weren't as clean? It took a couple attempts to get them to tighten all the way down. I've got an A-Top X-Blade case, and have plenty of ATX cable. I was lucky to get this unit from frozencpu.com; as they are again out of all but the Black Type Rs.
