Rob has a new review up on a MEGA multifunction panel from SunbeamTech which also includes a look at SunbeamTech's new LED Anodized Fans.

Check it out here.

good, quick, but thurough review rob. My only complaint with Sunbeam products is their ultimate gaudiness. By far this is one of the most gaudi companies selling "mod" products on the net right now.

4 separately colored fans? Why not just 4 different choices in products each with different color fans, so they are more..pleasing?

4 leds on the corner of each fan? These aren't UV reactive fans thank god, but leds on an anodized fan?

HOT PINK SERIAL ATA CABLES? WTF?

One word why these products will either fail...or...be accepted and then moded to HELL and back:
respectability.

No self respecting modder, or gamer for that fact, would be caught with an electric blue, a cherry red, and a forest green anodized fan all in the same case with some hot pink serial ATA cables.

unfortunately this one suffers from what I found to be all to common, they skipped xD reader ability. One of my most common problems with multi card readers unfortunately .

What exactly is the point of external SATA ports anyways? I see alot of pc with PCI bracket ones and stuff. What uses them that is available to the public for a descent price?

The fans do not come with the multi-panel, they were just sent along to kill 2 birds with one stone..
As for the LEDs on the fans.... they look great anodized during the daytime but when it is dark or if you are at a LAN party, they will look better.
I am still waiting for a manufacturer to make LED fans where you can turn the LEDs on/off.

There are external SATA HDD enclosures now.

I was really impressed with that 20-In-1 panel but wire management can be a nightmare. Also, if your motherboard only has two onboard USB ports like mine does (Abit NF-7s v. 2.0), then you can be screwed from hooking up the panel's USB ports because you've got your mouse and keyboard plugged into it.

As far as the fans, they are not sold as a set, but individually. I put the silver anodized fan in my tower and let me tell you, this is total bling-bling to look at! The only thing is that, because of the max RPM rating, you really can't get away with using it as your HSF if you are running anything higher than an AMD 2600+ (not overclocked).

As in the review photos, the SATA cables did come out looking slightly pink, but they are red. I tried to use some color correction on it but this graphic n00b couldn't get it to come out right.

Default Hemostat for fat fingers

Rob, I'm not a doctor and I don't play one on TV, but you might consider adding a hemostat (straight/curved) to your tool kit.... Hangs onto the small parts and gives you a needle-nosed reach so you can more easily find your glasses and flashlight. Thanks for the excellent review.

One question.... Is there enough room to smash a 3.5" HDD behind the Sunbeam panel? Can wires and heat be managed?

With the amount and the size of the wires coming off the back of the panel, there is absolutely no way to mount a 3.5" HDD efficiently.

Not for sure what a hemostat is but I'll Yahoo it and see what comes up. Thanks.
