Review: Sapphire Toxic X700 Pro Video Card

I have a new review up on a tweaked X700 Pro from Sapphire they have dubbed the Toxic edition. This newer version includes a new beefy GPU cooler and a factory packaged overclocking utility which guarantees results and doesn't void your warranty.

Very nice review GK. I love the wide variety of benchmarks. Looks to me as the X700 doesn't really warrant an upgrade from my 9800Pro. It's a toss up though, the X700 beats the 9800Pro in some tests, and looses in others.

On a side note, it's uh, interesting to see what manufacturer's are choosing for cooler designs. I myself prefer something more subdued.

Also, these factory overclocked cards are getting bigger. Maybe overclocking is about to get mainstream?

nice to see this 9800XT that has been beaten abused and even struck by lightning still has some lifei n it...

I would agree and disagree at the same time. That cooler is interesting, and provides some UV loving for the computer freak who doesn't mod. But it is a bit much for a x700 of any generation. To have a cooler like that on top of a card and to get no performance gain out of it (figurative or literal) screams one word in my mind:
Useless.

As for the review, it was worth quite a bit more then the card. Great pictures, good information and telling benchmarks.
