Review: Cooler Master Aquagate Mini R80

AntiM has a new review up on a little pip-squeak of a water cooling package from our friends at Cooler Master. Can the Aquagate Mini R80 offer up silence and performance in such a small package?

Good Review and very thourough. First glance at that setup and it does look pretty cheap. Another thing is why would you even make that product if your only going to improve your temps by a couple of degrees off of stock; needless to say im not seein this one go that far.

Good writeup, AntiM. It's amazing that with a half-dozen backplates, they couldn't get one to fit any of your Socket A boards (mainstream ones, at that!). Heck, my Thermalright SLK-900U only came with one backplate, and it's fit every Socket A board I've tried.

The idea itself has some merit -- a small, self-contained w/c unit for n00bs -- but without some better temp/noise results, the n00bs may wait for v2.0.

Nice review, what case where you using btw? Looks sorta like a WaveMaster...fromt the 1 shot I saw of a small piece of the corner :S

Yep, it's a Wavemaster from my half finished mod Project: Nautilus seen here. Witha little help from GK and Sapphire I was able to get it up and running to test the Aquagate. I wasn't kidding when I said I was a fan of Coolermaster.

w00t me too! I own the wavemaster. Seriously awesome case, the motherboard tray must make it easy for swapping parts for reviews. I found it doesn't offer enough cooling so I added a 120mm Coolermaster fan on the side with a brushed stainless grill. Looks sweet and lowerd my temps a good 5c-7c.
