It was too tempting. But when I saw the Hammer won't come out until next fall, I figured what the hell. I'll put the money back in the account doing some freelance computer work.

*drool* must have this now...

but seriously, do any of you think there would be any forseeable problems with overheating? I can't remember if it comes w/ ramsinks, but that may help a bit...

I'm gonna buy it if there is no problem with overheating or any other problems.

Well i have heard that the 9500 Has the same Gpu cooler as the 9700 but it doesn't have the ram sinks like the 9700.
The 9500 has a couple of resistors inbetween the ram which would mean you couldn't put one long ram sink on it.
You can put individual ones on it tho.

Actually, both cards come stock without any ram sinks... the modded 9500 that BulletPC is selling comes with RAM sinks...

Overheating shouldn't be an issue at all.

I was super impressed by this card.

I'm waiting on mine. If this thing performs like Glitter's benchmarks show, I got one hell of a deal. Unmodified, it runs for around $175. My Ti-4200 will be relegated to one of my secondary systems.

I received confirmation of my order, but it says on their web site it takes 3-4 days to mod it prior to shipping. I imagine they are probably a little overwhelmed with orders right now. I will give them another couple of days before I attempt contact for status.

Heh, maybe your's did GK, but mine came naked. I also didn't get a power connector, but that's not a problem. What's important is what benchmarks and performance this card can provide. I'll start playing with it shortly.

The Radeon 9700 or 9700 PRO doesn't come stock with RAMSINKS. in fact to cool mine I used tweakmonster ramsinks. The Danger Den waterblock and Also removed the shim on the GPU for better GPU to Block contact.
The factory Cooler uses thermal tape that needs to be removed prior to remounting any block..
Thats my two cents on clearing some inconsistencies. And yes GK that card put up some rather amazing numbers!!!!! What a deal. me/ looks at emtpy wallet and radeon 9700pro thinking man what could I have done with that extra 100 bucks!!

I just ran 3DMark2001SE at default settings and pulled down 13,318 on my 2200+. The website is still flooded so I couldn't publish results. My GF4 Ti4200 got in the 11's overclocked. Guess it's time to start playing with some memory settings.
