Reflux has just posted a review on Hiper's new 770w power supply. Hiper have always had a tradition for providing cheap and cheerful products, but have they done it again with their new Type-R Mk2 PSU?

Decent review, for your next review try and use a more formal approach, e.g. Get rid of "I" e.t.c, this may be more work but it make the review look better

Arc Angel, many people have made it clear that the whole reason they come to PCApex is to read reviews in which the authors arn't afraid to give their personal opinion on a product. All our reviews are fun to read, and the authors add a personal touch that's hard to find elsewhere on the web.

Read some of AntiMs reviews and you'll see what I mean You sound like you are regurgitating a High School English lesson.

Cheers for your input Ollie, and thanks for the PM with the suggestions. Corrected them all now Stan has a point though but yeah I think I remember GK saying he wanted the reviews to be accessible but informative, so that's what I went for.

Got it shipped from Hiper's dutch office, and there are a couple more coming too Yeah, Milton Keynes, I went there once, it was a bit naff. So you gotta give em credit coming out of there lol

The USB ports on the back are indeed a bit odd, but they're conveniently placed and I'm finding them a good addition

I think you got the balance right Dave, accessible and informative.

Reflux asked for peeps personal opinion. That was Arcs. You sound like your a little over protective of your British buddy, not that it is a bad thing, but Reflux is a big boy im sure he can handle this.

Great review Reflux, and im stoked for these latest versions to make it to the states. Im wondering though if we can try and get the most of these psu's and actually see if theyll put out what they claim. Remember what Twizted did with his PSU review? Hooked up two pc's to the girly, and than measured the actual watts being used. It was definately something a little over the top that put a psu to the test the way it hasnt been done in a long time, and i still remember what he did to that PSU.....I believe it was one of Ultra's, but dont quote me on that.

Regardless, you get what im saying is that I still remember that review, because it was unique. What if you hooked up some 12vdc heaters to those psu's and saw how they handled it? 12 Volt Auxiliary Ceramic Heaters & Blankets Something like that would definately handle the load and because its only 15 amps most psu's should be able to handle it.

Well, thing is, I took the PSU over to Ollie's on thursday in order to stress-test the arse off it in his test bench. We were going to use SLi 8800GTSs and my overclocked Q6600. Unfortunately, Ollie's SLi motherboard was b0rked, and I didn't have time to remove my Q6600 from my PC before I left home. But I am thinking of purchasing dual HD2900 Pros to go in my P35 motherboard, so we'll see.

Good review Reflux , gotta say I love that finish on it. Its a nice change from the standard crome finish. One thing I didnt know was that hyper made non-modular supplys, tho I really havent looked.

Thanks for the comments guys. I am having a problem with the preview image not showing up on the front page though. I've had this before but usually it resolved itself. It doesn't load on either of my PCs.

Hmm Coil Wine Eh? Theres a way to fix it, just cover the coil in question with nail polish. This should eliminate the noise or atleast dull it down. Epoxy Might work also.
