![]() ![]() | Man what are the chances of a leak springing? If you get a good kit and build it well with good fittings etc, should you worry? Is it something that can happen to anyone, or something that can be avoided with the right knowledge and applied precaution?

| Pimp-of-all-Pimps | It is more like you last option, "something that can be avoided with the right knowledge and applied precaution." As long as you do your homework and pay attention to what you are doing and what your cooling loop is doing, you should be good to go. The leak in that write-up was due to a VERY cheaply made water cooling kit. Nothing like the ones on the market today. |

![]() ![]() | I'm ****ting bricks worrying about something leaking 'cause I missed a fitting or something. I've heard people have problems with dodgy connections on resevoirs, all sorts. Well let's hope my kit is of substantial quality and my awareness stops me from overlooking potential mistakes. ULTIMATE CARE WILL BE TAKEN!

| Old Skool Pimp | Excellent tips Gary! One comment though... When using Alcohol.... Make sure you use 99% Isopropryl Alcohol...not the 70% cheaper stuff... They are on the same shelf...one just cost about 50 cents more. Dont be cheap with your own supplies... The 70% is mixed with water...and not good for electronics. Other then that man...The guide rocks Digi/Barry

| Pimp-of-all-Pimps | The 70% still evaporates completely though... as long as you are not applying it while it is running hot, then you should be ok. Point being, if you already have 70% around the house, there is no need to go get 99%. They both work just fine. |

Could just be a bad habit of mine...lol I just have always had the habit of only picking up 99%. I once heard sticking wet electronics in a bowl of uncooked rice was a way of soaking up the moisture too....ever heard of that?

Thats interesting... All we have here on the shelfs of PA is 70% and 91%. I special ordered a 12 pack of 99% for my next W/C loop. like 28$ + 6$ shipping, not bad... But the rice idea is really interesting, what about leaving it with some silica gel packs in a sealed box?
