Default Saitek Eclipse II Illuminated Keyboard

AntiM has posted a review of this great-looking and solidly built illuminated keyboard from Saitek.

Check it out here.

I'm sure it will get fixed. Our new editors are bound to hit a bump or two their first few reviews.

Nice review!! I saw one of those at Best Buy, I had to get. I am pleased very much with it. I agree with the review 110% based on my ownership of it. Only my purple looks purple and not pink at all...

There very lovely keyboards. A bit flashy for me though... The Back light is a really good idea though, may have to work a mod on my Cherry Value.

Coel, don't know if you noticed, but the article header needs edits. You haven't linked the correct email addresses, and there's no Digg link either.

I forgot all that in both the reviews I did till GK pointed it out. There's so much to do!

I know, I already PM'd GK about those things.

I've had one for over a half year now and i love it. Only gripe about it was that the rubber key mat inside it sometimes gets off center making it so you have to hit certain keys multiple times.

Interesting review. I have to dispute the claim that Z-Boards have no period, see here is one ... and of course there is one by the numeric keypad too ... and mine comes with only one comma ,,,

You neglected to say whether it (Saitek) is a USB or PS2 keyboard. My Z-Board is USB and so is my backlit EL-715 keyboard - which is only in blue not your neat tricolour setup and had an on and off for the backlight. Functional, slim line but does not sound as cool as the one you reviewed.

Keep the cool reviews coming!

BTW have you had a look at the tripple harddrive holder from Thermaltake? 12cm fan, blue LED backlight and looks cool in a big case. (I run a VA-8000 Armour case with a 25cm fan in the side window). I have 2 of the caddys in my case and as an added bonus they have air filters too so they help keep the dust out of my case.

I too own this keyboard and love it. The backlight is great when working in low light, like working on a project till 4am while roommate is sleeping. Only complaint from me is that the keys do not all connect to the keyboard in the same way so I can't rearrange them all to a dvorak layout.

Thanks

I don't doubt in the least most Zboards have a period key. Mine however does not. It will type a period, you just have to do it with the right-hand comma key. It wasn't a blanket statement, just an amusing anecdote about my particular Zboard.

It's USB. "It's a relief not to have to dig through boxes trying to find an ADB adapter or alternate device in order to install a driver." I didn't really feel the need to elaborate further at the time I guess.
