| Im_gumby has a new review up on a nifty little gadget from Merconnet named the Car MP3 FM Transmitter. It seems like it could be a handy little device; it's too bad it has trouble delivering the goods. Check it out here. | ||

| Basically anything that transmits to your fm is going to experience some kind of sound loss. Even Sirius and XM do it. If your looking to play your mp3's streamlessly from a usb the only way to go is a usb reciever. I own one myself and have been blown away at how nice it is. The only thing i dont understand is how it hasnt taken over the market and sent cd changers packin. I play it off of a 2gb regular usb drive and have plugged in some of my external drives for long road trips where 30 some odd albums arent enough....basically that never happens. Heres the deck JVC Mobile Entertainment \ Model KD-G820 Good review Im_Gumby, did you see how it bounced on the highway....thats what i did with my old one. | ||

Nah... even with the problems, it was still better than the alternative, it just wasn't worth what they were asking for. I'm planning on using it until I upgrade to a newer car with a stereo with an 1.5mm input.

I realise this, that is why when I had XM I went with the cassette adapter versus the fm transmitter, but the technology is getting better. I guess it just isn't there yet. As for a USB receiver, I have the next model down from yours, I believe the 720 model. I originally intended it for the truck, but since the transmission took a huge dump a couple of weeks ago it will be going into (at least temporarily) my Town Car that replaced the truck. Reminds me, I need to get some pics of it up in the Pimp Rides thread this weekend.

| Although it wasn't the most technical review I've seen done, it was honest and accurate. I wish I could find a great way to transmit my many GB of music to my truck stereo without degradation. I know that a product will eventually be developed, it just ain't here yet. | ||

BA check out this reciever JVC Mobile Entertainment \ Model KD-G820 Ive been using it in my truck for going on a year now and the only problem ive ever had with it is if your in under 20F weather the usb stick that im has a tendency to be flaky. However thats the stick not the decks problem, so eh.

| I dont know why they have that statement posted on their site because my 820 model has a 2gb OCZ thumb drive in it and all songs play, with the drive completely ful. The only thing that youve got to watch for is wma's. The drive will play them if their not copy protected. If they are, the songs/album will read Format Not Supported. Its part of the WMP when your ripping your music from cd, make sure that you go to the rip properties and uncheck "copy protection" On a sidenote i might have gone with another drive, just for the reason that the usb port is on the front instead at the back of the deck. I have a tendency to bump the thumb drive with it sticking out of the front of the deck alot so installed a usb extension so that my drive sits beneath the deck in a cubby. Other drives out there like this one from Kenwood http://www.kenwoodusa.com/products/L...k3=172&pr=2740 That way you can route a usb cable from the back of the deck, to someplace like your glovebox where it can stay out of the way. | ||

| Yeah, trouble is I personally don't care for Kenwood decks. Personal preference I guess. After re-reading reviews and such for my model JVC KD-G720, it appears that the USB on my model tops out at 4GB..... still not bad. I have a 2GB Corsair Flash Voyager that should work fine. | ||
