Review: Razer Barracuda AC-1 Game Sound Card

AntiM has a new review up on Razers first foray into the world of sound cards; the Razer Barracuda AC-1 Gaming Sound Card. The card looks to pack a fair amount of features but lacks a bit on the delivery.

Good thorough review, overpriced card.

I'm pretty sure the Turtle Beach - Montego DDL card also uses the 8788 and has all the same features (There are a bunch of cards with that same chipset). It's only 60 some odd dollars at the egg. I have one in my MythTV box, good sound.

pretty avrage card with alot of hype and fluff and a high price. Spend the money on a decent card like the ESI Juli@ which has a much better music credentials

I own one of these guys and so far I can say it lives up to It's claims.

There are some minor driver side issues that need to be worked out, and people have been grinding their teeth for the Vista drivers for awhile now.

The card is good, I just think that it doesn't justify the price tag like everyone else claims.

For a card like this I think it should be priced in the $100 range.

$200 would sound appropriate for a headset/soundcard combo, but as things currently stand if your purchase them together you get no discount, just the flat out $200 for the card and $100 for the headphones. A bit overpriced IMHO.
