Default Press Release: Noctua realeases NH-U9F

Vienna, December 4th 2006 - Noctua today presented the successor of its
NH-U9 CPU cooler, which has been recommended by over 50 leading international websites and magazines. The new NH-U9F comes equipped with a 92mm Noctua SSO-Bearing fan that has a minimum noise rating of only 7dB(A). It's fully AM2 compatible and can be installed turned by 90° in order to ensure an optimal orientation and compatibility. Thanks to its compact size, the NH-U9F is the perfect premium-class cooler for all applications demanding excellent cooling performance, outstanding quietness and maximum compatibility.

"After the big success of our fan series and the NH-U12F, many customers have asked us whether there'll be a new version of the NH-U9 that includes a fan", says Mag. Roland Mossig, Noctua CEO. "With the NH-U9F, we've finally added a more compact ultra-low-noise cooler with fan to our product line!"

The 92mm fan used on the NH-U9F employs Noctua's magnetically centred, self lubricating oil-pressure bearing (SSO-Bearing) and boasts a maximum airflow of 58m³/h. Thanks to the supplied Ultra-Low-Noise adaptor, the noise level can be lowered to only 7dB(A)! As a result, the NH-U9 is ideal for demanding high-performance cooling as well as true ultra-low-noise operation.

The new NH-U9F is compatible with socket LGA 775, 754, 939, 940 & AM2 and can be installed turned by 90° in order to ensure an optimal positioning of the cooler within the airflow inside the case and to evade compatibility issues with non-standard chipset coolers or RAM modules.

"In addition to factors such as cooling performance, quietness of operation, long-term stability and compatibility, we attach great importance to the reliability of the mounting system", says Mag. Roland Mossig, Noctua CEO. "The SecuFirm™ mounting system of the NH-U9F makes it possible to safely transport the assembled system without any risk even though the cooler exceeds the 450g weight specification established by Intel and AMD."

Noctua's SecuFirm™ mounting system guarantees optimal contact pressure and maximum security thanks to the use of a backplate and spring-loaded screws.

glad to see this out, i'd really like to see the fan running a high speed, non 7dba. But hey it has its place. The cooler having the 90 degree rotation is a definate plus, but if you dont want to buy another one, theyll send you the AM2 kit off there site

One thing, with the clips for the fan, in that picture it seems to be backwards, the work much better and don't fall offsoeasy the other way, kinda ironic there own site has the fan attachment totally backwards. Personally i have no idea which way its suppose to be, i use it the opposite of the picture in there gallery.

Na, it runs normal, and they give you the adapter thing to dial it back to 7dba as well.
