It is out. The first Official Beta Version came out on Aug 1st or 3rd? I have it and Zeros has it. And yes we have both found numorous errors already. It will be a cool OS if they get all the kinks out!

Sure XP was not error free but it was a hell of an improvment over what most people where running at the time. I was using 98SE at the time, as ME was worse of than 98, which itself was a pain to use. XP was a huge leap despite its failures.

And this need to learn linux stuff really gets to me sometimes. The minute linux gains a large market share you'll see bug and exploits everywhere in many of the wonderful flavors and as it is not a centralized OS in terms of support. The task of securing one's OS will be placed on the user. Linux can be a usefull and rewarding tool to learn but you will put a large amount of work into it if you want to make a complete switch.

Well it just shows that if you start a company like Microsoft don't rely on 1000 trained monkeys sitting in front of computers to code your new, and improved OS. This further proves that Microsoft uses monkeys when they have to remove a feature because some 5 year old was able to code a virus for it. I also wish it was still called longhorn. Vista sounds too fruity.

Hmmm, why waste your time depending on windows' 'ease' factor, when you can use that time to learn how to use CLP in linux? It's not very hard; the time wasted when you're getting viruses, spyware and errors can be used to learn something constructive. Dual-boot if you really need it, but seriously:
Try a distro of *nix that suits your needs.

"Vista sounds too fruity (koolgreen 3:16)" - Amen
[yet another reason not to use that crap]
