| a.k.a., Frank Bullitt | You can route all your lines from the PSU from behind the mobo tray (this is what I did when I transfered everything from my HP case to a Lian Li case). As far as drive cables, if you have ribbon cables, you can do a nice triangle fold (like what Voodoo does with their rigs) and use a plastic clip to secure them to the backside of your drive cage. If you got the round cables, you can put the remaining slack of the cable to the backside of the drive cage and secure it with zip ties. If you want to be even more pimpin, organize and zip tie all those cables on the backside of the mobo tray (near the drive cage again). This is how I did mine and it worked great.

| Apex Advanced Techie | When i recently did my first build, i did my first sleeving job as well. I sucked at it, but towards the end got good at it. I didnt do my psu properly, by taking it apart first. I found a great how to article for first timers and plan to get a new sleeving kit soon and do it the right way. Then my wilres will be poyfect. ~Heather

| Apex Techie I | My wiring is pretty messed up right now. I try to keep it as organized as possible but it is a hard thing for me. I have 5 fans in my case so that really adds to the problem. I hope to have it under control soon.

| Apex Master Tech Apprentice | I'm using the family comp now, so I'm not gonna put *too* much into the wiring.. But here's what I've managed to do: ![]() (I've got it set up mostly for functionality, not display..)

| Apex Master Tech Apprentice | Heh, something like that.. Everyone like the plumber's strap.. Here's what I've managed to do with my new comp: ![]() (actually, it's not quite current... I've managed to get the wiring around the PSU organized much better than in that picture).

| Apex Techie II | My wiring is so abundant I don't even think it would be possible to hide it. It is sleeved and bundled and kept out of the path of airflow, but I've tried and tried and I think there may just be two many wires to hide. I have 6 IDE devices (2 optical 4 HD) 4 fans on a nexus controller plus a custom light and CPU/GPU fan controller with 1 knob and 3 switches in a front 3.5" bay. I also have the audigy game/midi port ribbon cable, and since there are 3 PCI cards plus an acrtic cooling ati cooler on my 9800 pro (which takes up an extra PCI slot). I haven't much room to route a lot of cables. In fact the area behind the motherboard tray is about as full of cables as you can get. But as you see in the first of coel's pictures, with some sleeving (and he did a much better job than I) wires don't need to be hidden. They aren't evil and don't necessarily ruin a mods look.

I think instead of hiding, try making the wiring orderly..........try using straight lines, both horizontal and vertical.................wiring doesn't necessarily have to be hidden

![]() | When I do a build, I use about 6 tie straps (aka zip ties). It's not too messy. A coworker of mine used a grand total of 31 tie straps on one build, just to piss off the guy who has to go on-site to service these rigs. After he was done, he found out the PSU was bad. It took him a full 25 minutes with wire cutters to free it from the case.

| Apex Tech Demi-God | I guess my rig would fit in the "organized" category. My wires are tucked out of the way, but pretty half-heartedly managed. I mean, none of them are loomed or anything, I've just zip tied lots of excess behind the motherboard tray, or used electrical tape to run things away from stuff and out of sight and out of mind.

Actually yeah I did. I got a matching cellphone, keyboard, mouse, and monitor to go along with the case. I'm also painting my laptop that colour to go along with my whole theme. Lots of work in progress as you can see. | |||||||||||||||||||||||
