I honestly used to be in the full tower camp, but recently (after I discovered mini-ITX boards) I've been pondering the zen of having a system that does exactly what it's supposed to... and nothing else. As much as I hate to admit it, I've been eyeing these:

Imagine one of these with a CoreDuo and 2GB of RAM... couple of laptop SATA drives in RAID 0, and a decent PCIe graphics card. Plop one of those down at a LAN party and you'd have people drooling all over it. Too bad it would cost twice as much as a regular tower system, or else I'd already have one.

I think I have a disorder , because I own 7 cases from gerenic to top brand names and I'm always wanting another one.

I chose custom , only because my next case is going to be a 4U rack mount chassis w/ hotswap drive bays. I havent decided on the exact model but i'm leaning toward Chenbro

Beware this case, it does not like full form factor ATX boards, very tight. Additionaly, the front assembly is held on by pressure spring tabs. In the one I used, one of the fans went bad within 2 weeks.

Overall, not a good experience.

I'm thinking Full Tower... I'm planning a mod now that involves a secondary PSU in my Mid Tower... and I just wish I had a spare PSU bay. When I got my Dragon Case brand new, I thought it was huge, but come to find it's a tad small for my liking after all.

Hmm I thinking of one of these with a nice little external liquid cooler to sit right on top of it and then a nice little vfd in the center. It so small though that the PSU might have to be external too.

I voted custom mainly because the final home for my new hardware will be a severely modded case that I am getting back to work on already. No I don't have any pic updates yet, but soon..... very soon.

Well.... I just did a Desktop.... before that I started on a Full Tower (the project was put on 'hold while
finishing the desktop) ... so... a Full Tower it is for me!

But... I've got to admit... I really like some of those new cases which house an mATX board & look like an SFF case "On Steroids"... granted they are bigger than a true SFF case but you can do a lot more with them,
imho...

TDR, I'm definitely agreeing with the "Tween" cases. Just found out that Lian-Li is now making one! MicroATX and yes, the CD drives are mounted in the sides! Hard drives are accessible from outside in the back... plus a removable tray (so you don't have to disassemble it to get to the heatsink, etc.) Also uses a standard ATX power supply... I think I'm digging this. This thing is screaming to be modded! Coelcanth, whadda ya think? Your Pico-flame PC would look killer in this

Right now, I'm working on a mid-tower... Kind of a compromise between a behemoth case and one that will fit in my shirt pocket..

Next go-round, though, I think I'm going to get adventurous and build my own... Maybe not completely from scratch, but trying to scavenge as little as possible...

My next case will be a bunch of pieces of metal that I will form into something resembling a Mountain Mods Case. Their stuff rocks, but is very expensive.
