| Mystical Schwinn Guru | Check out these 5 1/4" drive covers I pulled out of a SCSI hard-drive mass storage unit I was stripping out in the warehouse at Astro Too. Shot this one in the dark because if you have the flash on the contrast sucks at this angle......... |

![]() | I can relate to those who have the imagination , ingenuity but not the cash to mod . For my mod I used left over parts for rounding the cables like wire mesh from a dead monitor's cable, insulation from an old Cat. V cable. Being a good shopper helps too. The color changing paint I bought on clearance. The inside paint cost only $1.00. The CCFL's I bought cheap online.Patience is a virtue...and a means of saving cash also. If you don't do it right the first time, do you have the money to repeat it again? Check out the end result here I probably can add mor but I like it as is. Remember, it's your machine. You're the one who is going to use it so don't worry about critics.

| Apex Tech Fanatic Supreme | I'm going for the close encounters vote. Polished all the metal inside the case, 4 cc uv fans, 2 12" ccl uvs', 2 12" ccl blue, 3 blue led fans in the Koolance unit on top, uv blue reactive tubing outlining components and uv reactive green in the water cooling setup and soon a polished aluminum front bezel. Now the case I'm building for the mod competition, is going to be 100% made. 1/4" Acrylic, with holograms, and totally custom watercooling.

| Apex Techie I | I have a pre-modded case. I have absolutely no knowledge of how to mod anything and don't want to screw anything up right now. I plan to learn how to in the near future. The big problem is I have almost no creativity so ideas are hard to come by for me.

Just get yourself an old machine that someone is throwing out to get started and practice on. That way your main machine stays in good shape and you can get started on your Jedi modding ablities. Start simple, try just painting it. Look at the design of the case, take it apart, put it back together. think about where you want the paint to be. check out the tutorials on the PR site also. Dig the gallery. There's lots and lots of inspiration all around here. Also, many guys here can help give ou some ideas. Lots of us will post just ideas, maybe with a pic of the plain case to get ideas and input from other modders. We'll be glad to help give you ideas, tips, tricks, and gotchas! Go for it!

![]() | All I have is a duct I did at home with some ABS pipe, a 92mm fan, and some wire to give the pipe a bit of an edge on the outside with a fan grill glued to the outside intake. ![]() Sounds like @$$ but really its not that bad. |

| Apex Master Tech Apprentice | Fan and cooling mods I've got down pretty good... I haven't really gotten into the windows or lights, although I'm thinking about adding some LEDs behind the front bezel or something...
