Default Does caffeine improve your gaming experience?

Winners have already been chosen...

Leave a post in this thread to be entered to win a box of caffeinated treats! On August 31st we will randomly pick 3 winners from the members that post in this thread What exactly will you win if you are picked? VroomFoods.com has put up 2 boxes of their Buzz Bites - Chocolate Energy Chews (my personal favorite) and 1 box of their Foosh - Energy Mints. Each box contains 12 tins of the candies! That's 72 chews or 144 mints which are each equal to a cup of coffee apiece!

You can read about my opinions on these caffeinated candies in our Caffeine Compendium.

Usually pick up a couple bottles of Jolt Red, some Bawls, and a couple bottles of Dew when i am at LANs. When i'm home, i just keep a case of whatever next to me in my desk.

I would love to try to win some caffinated chacolate.
It slightly improves my gaming because it increases my reaction speed slightly.
I keep some emergency caffine within reach, but its just for IN CASE i need it.

I never thought much about the caffeine thing.

Now barley, hops, and/or corn sometimes find their way into my system when gaming
on some occasions even on my system depending on the amount consumed.

And no I donÂ’t think they enhance my game play but they do assist in forgetting what time it is or blocking out outside distractions.

Studies have actually proven that caffeine can improve hand-eye coordination.

Quote:
Caffeine, usually in doses in the 150-400 mg range, acutely improves cognitive function in a multitude of ways. These primarily involve simple intellectual tasks and rapid information processing5. Beneficial effects seen from caffeine include faster typing with fewer errors, improved simple reaction and choice reaction time, improved performance on simulations of driving and sentry duty, improved performance on digit symbol substitution and logical reasoning tasks, improved accuracy of time estimation, and improved cognitive performance in the post-exercise state5, 25-28. Chronic or lifetime consumption of caffeine is associated with improved cognitive function in some studies, primarily on the elderly25, 32

Strong coffee and Coca Cola. Coffee so strong and thick that a spoon stands straight up in it. Not just for gaming, for daily survival.

Caffeine daily when school rolls around. Usually some coffee with my sugar. Mt. Dew and Cherry Coke for late night gaming, but I rarely do all night gaming sessions.

Ohhhhhhhhh [sinking, de-energizing feeling as is realized]... I seem to've forgotten about caffine for the last few weeks! Haven't even had a cup of Jo for nearly a month!!! I'm not proud of it.. Just think of all the extra [obviously less less efficient form of energy recharging..] sleep I could've skipped!.. This is bad. Think I'm gonna go stock up on sweets and caffine products right now.

ED: Alright, sipping my cup now.. Off to the store in a min..

I usually have some sort of caffinated beverage during most hard-core gaming sessions (bawls, jolt, dew). If only tried a few caffinated mints; I'll havta check these out even if I don't win (I hope I do!)

I've cut my caffeine intake to almost nil. I have some iced tea every day, but in comparison to soda or coffee thta's nothing.

Oddly a Pepsi around mid-morning will wake me right up. If I drink coffee at like a restaurant with a meal or something I get a bit sleepy. Green tea perks me right up though. Try getting that in a restaurant. Although it is getting more popular. In college I lived on caffeine. Went to school full time and worked full time in a bakery. I had to wake up there cause it was time to make the doughnuts!

Caffeine is a must. For about the past 6 months, i've been on pain meds for a back injury, and i've found that i pay a lot more attention to my refelxes (or lack thereof) while gaming. I've defenitely found that a good jolt of caffeine helps me to be able to hang in FPS PvP (Half Life2 Death Match) longer. Although when the meds really kick in, there's not enough caffeine in the world to change my propensity for becoming everyone's target. At that point, it's time to hop over to CoH

Yep, a shot or two of Mt. Dew is what gets me going. When I sit down to play BF2, I have two bottles of water, a Miller High Life, and a Mt. Dew. Usually...
