It probably wouldn't be a bad idea if a moderator were to close this poll and start a new one so that the poll would be more representative of the RAM in our current main PCs. Since originally voting in the poll, my main system has become a file server and the memory has doubled.

By that logic, your main system is no longer your main system ... so just modify the result to reflect your new main system.

Or is that not possible?

Heck, the $300 Corsair 2GB ram I bought 8 months ago is only $95 now!!!

If you watch for deals, 8GB can be had for $200 ar.

Well, my "main" currently is my laptop which thankfully got 2GHz and 2 cute 512MB sticks. Strangely enough everything is placed just under one baseplate and I could exchange everything with the least effort.
Should I take a turn and mod the old system standing around here I would have to live with 512MB (I could put in up to 2Gig) and 2.66GHz which both works fine for most things I do.
But since I want more, I need a new mobo sometime next year.
