HAHA i had one of those for like 2 years before i started building my own computers. I hated that peice of crap - gave me like 5 fps while i was inoccently working on 3d modeling and game dev. Im still on a budget and dont have that great of a card - a radeon 9250 - but it handles playstation games (all of which i own so its legal), 3d modeling/game dev and and games less graphics-intensive than doom3. im happy with it ![]()

| Apex Techie Lite | I'm currently building my PC, and I should be done in a few days. I got this SICK DFI LanParty mobo: http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applicatio...356361&CatId=0. I also got this video card: http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applicatio...351111&CatId=0 (prices in Canadian Dollars). My system isn't running yet but it looks VERY promising. Discription of SLI: nVidia SLI (Scalable Link Interface) nVidia SLI™ (Scalable Link Interface) technology is a revolutionary approach to scalability and increased performance. nVidia SLI takes advantage of the increased bandwidth of the PCI Express™ bus architecture, and features hardware and software innovations within nVidia GPUs (graphics processing units) and nVidia nForce4 MCPs (media and communications processors). Together the nVidia SLI patent-pending technologies work seamlessly to deliver heart-pounding PC performance. And depending on the application, nVidia SLI can deliver as much as 2x the performance of a single GPU configuration for unparalleled gaming experiences. As you can see, even though the prices are kinda high, I think it's well worth it. This new technology will really cut back on people buying and using 2x videocards, IMO. The extra $100 +/- you will be spending to get a mobo with an SLI chipset and a compatable videocard will be well worth it. It will definately save more money than using a second GPU, and it also means thinking ahead for better SLI videocards. | |

Rukkus you might wanna descide on one signature and stick with it. Yours is definately out of allowable specifications to this website. Both of them are the right size but when you have both of em.....it kinda defeats the purpose of making them that size in the first place.I rescently burned up my 6800GT and went to 2 6600GT's in SLI and havent looked back. Hats off to Nvidia.

| No Way! Current SLI "paired" cards will be "wasted" by the 'next gen cards from ATI & Nvidia.... Those 'next gen cards will cost less, generate less heat & consume less power than a current "sli setup"... Why? -Scaled down manufacture process.. ("nm".. anyone?), -architectual advancements, -cooling advancements & technical advancements... to name a few..... Most of us "oldtimers" have seen it before... all current technology will be put to shame by the future... Today's 800 dollar card wil be "wasted" in 2 years, by a 200 dollar card..... I've been into computers since I was a 10 year old kid (1980).... and I've seen PC's develop from the IMB XT to the current offerings from AMD & Intel... One thing I've learned... never go "high end" unless you've got cash to spare.... TDR | ||

| In the begining I did not plan for SLI so only bouht 1 card thinking that sooner or later a second PCI-E would come around cheap enough to go SLI. Now that I want to SLI the mate to my eVGA is elusive. So my thoughts are if you think you want SLI save up and do it the first time and save the hasle of hunting for a compatible card. | ||
