Default Where do you stand?

Since many of us have or have had multiple PCs I thought it would be interesting to see where our interests have taken us. Select the option that best fits your situation(s).

Both AMD and Intel used here, AMD gives your more bang for the buck, but Intel gives you more Ghz for F@H... I'm diehard AMD though.

amd fan here. of course i am a newb, and i have nothing to compare my amd experiences to, but so far amd hasn't given me any reason to look elsewhere. also, intel hasn't given me any motivation to switch either.

Whups! Sorry about that, GK.

Yeah, all my life I was the kind of guy that would spend an extra buck or two to make sure I got the best computer for my dollar at the Best Buy/Sears/Circuit City stores of the world and of course, what is it you always hear from those guys?

"Oh, well Intel is the best because they are in almost all of our computers".

I remember reading last year a Consumer Reports article that rated various 1G processors from Intel and AMD. In the order from top to bottom, the AMD Athlon was rated first, then AMD Duron, Intel Celeron, and finally, the Intel Pentium. Turns out that at the time, the 1G Athlon was chugging along at slightly higher than 1G while the Pentium was moping along at 933Mhz.

PimpRig.com changed that faster than a therapy support group.

"Hi, my name is Rob"

"HI ROB!!!"

"I used to buy my computer at Best Buy but I've been building them myself since April 2004."

AMD from the get go....but im not really sure why except for the fact that i try to give my money to the little man and intel seemed evil to me.

I've always used Intel, but after seeing the light, my next build will probably be AMD.

I didn't vote because I don't consider myself a fan of anything. I'm using an Athlon (most bang for the buck), if Intel had more bang for the buck I'd switch.

Another diehard AMD fan here as long as they continue to lead the field in bang for the buck.

I'm an AMD guy. I have an Inhell for a folding rig and it just peaves me that it can't be overclocked.

I'm a fan of both here. I had 3 athlons previous to this(600 mhz slot a, 700mhz slot a and 1.4 t-bird) and most my clients rigs are AMD's. I like the overall power that comes from intels cpu's but i think AMD gives you the most for your money and right now I am looking into building a dual opteron setup.

I'm pretty much a die hard AMD man but I have nothing against Intel. I built a Celeron rig for my mother earlier this year and it's working fine.

I've run Intels since I was but a wee tot learning Win 3.1 and playing Doom, against my parents wishes, of course.... but, come Jan '03, what did I put in my first build? An Athlon... lovin' it ever since.

I wasn't criticizing your speed, merely the title.

Martin Luther made me do it.

And, AMD all the way. First computer I ever (cringe) bought was an AMD Duron 800. Very nice computer, yes it was, yes it was.
