This proves my point further. My point being most people out there have no real idea why intel sucks. They just say so because that is what there buddies say to them. As tek put it, there are reasons. Most never know them.
proves my above point even further. the whole point of my post was to see if matt really knew what he was saying. matt, plz dont that this the wrong way. but other you agreeing with someone else as to why. it really does not prove your point to what you have found to prove your statement as intel sucks to be true. for all those ppl out there who think im a intel fanboy. im not. i use both amd and intel for whatever i need in the situation i will be mostly be using the system for. i like amd. and i like intel.

| You didn't include the only other option I can think of: "I use both without discrimination". I used to be all into the AMD T-Birds and Durons back in the day, you could get 200 to 300 or so MHz overclock with just air-cooling, which wasn't bad (i.e. Duron 800 to 1060, unlocked 1.2 T-bird to 1425 MHz)...at the time, Intels were very overclocker-unfriendly. AMDs, at that time, were quite a bit cheaper, and gave similar performance to equivalent Intel chips, for only 50% to 66% of the price. Overclocking the AMD was as easy as a carefully-drawn line with a pencil to connect some contacts on the CPU. Once the P4 Northwoods came out, the roles were reversed. You could still only push 200 MHz overclock on average with aircooled AMD chips, but Northies were getting a MINIMUM 33% overclock just by upping the FSB from 100 to 133 (or much higher). Also, now, AMDs were almost as expensive as P4's, and wouldn't overclock anywhere NEAR as much as the P4 Northies would (aircooling only, remember). My P4 1.6 in the Gargoyle ran stable at 2.45 GHz with FSB at over 140 MHz. No AMD chip at that time could break 250 MHz overclock on aircooling, when the Intels were going at LEAST 400 MHz overclocks, with no ****ing around with "connect the dots" L-1 bridges-with-windshield-defroster-repair-tricks and other complex methods of overclocking, all you had to do was bump up the FSB in BIOS. Maybe things will change again, but I'm never able to afford the latest and greatest; my PC parts buying is always timed to buy older stuff that's being phased out just when new stuff hits the market. Example: I'm using my 1.6 in my M-ATX project, but the mobo I selected can run the latest 800 FSB P4's; when Intel introduces the P5, I'll buy the fastest P4 CPU my mobo BIOS will support for about half the price. When I decide upon a CPU to use, it's always "what gives the most bang for the buck [including overclocking potential]". In a nutshell.Last edited by Coelacanth; 15-January-05 at 09:19 AM. | ||

I asked a couple questions as to why you thought this. And you still have not proved anything besides what you know of Intels from what other people say. Now, I will not ask you anymore intelligent questions, as you do not have any intelliegent answers. But I will however reply to what you said in your other thread.
Notice that he mentioned that te older 423s were phased out. It is harder to find a 423 sock than it is a 478. Intel noticed the crappiness of that chip and designed a higher performance chip.
I sincerly hope you were not literal with that last statement. Even if you were not, why would this question even be asked. if you knew that "Intels Suck". Then i would have guessed that this would not had to even crossed your mind which would be a better chip. BTW I did read over the whole thread. Sounds like just plain old flame wars. RAWRRRR, my computer pwnes j0000. rarrrrr Anywho, If you read over my post. And not take it personal. Then you could have been calm and just answered simply with: Yah I've done benchmarks with two comparable systems. I scored higher. (Or something to that effect.) Given me a link to that thread, and all would have been well. See know was that so hard.
There now see, thats all you had to do. Give some reason to point towards you knowing what you are talking about. EDIT: I will admit, I never saw that thread. ![]()
