| I usually go online for price concerns like this: Called local computer store for standard fan grills his price $5.95 each, online 10 for $5 plus $6 for shipping. Same store for 40mm chipset fan, $12.95 online $2.50. I actually perfer buying local but sometimes it's just too expensive. | ||

| I do all my shopping online unless I'm buying something from some place like wal-mart where the shipping costs push the prices too high. But most stuff for computers I buy online because there just arn't any stores around me that I wouldn't pay more in gas and time to drive to, then I would pay for shipping from an online store. | ||

| Hmm... I only buy Books, movies, computer parts, magazine subscriptions, caffeine (when the price is right), car parts/mods, PC mods and other stuff on-line... Everything else I buy locally... I guess that would include pizza, massive amounts Vanilla Coke, and Junior Mints (yes... I'm a model of healthy living). | ||

| Being one of those 'cash-only' kind of guys myself, of the so very few times I've bought something online, I just have someone else use their credit card and it's all good. Though, doing that is a tad restricting as the person will always want to know what he's using his credit card for...ahh well. Screw credit cards!! | ||

| I tend to buy online when I either can't find the items I'm looking for in a store around here, or in some cases when the retail price is more than online+shipping (read: CompUSA). Also, the nearest Fry's is about an hour and a half drive from my house, so that's a big influence to buy hardware online. | ||

| I do not buy computer parts online.....and for many reasons. I have had so many broken/wrong parts sent to me from newegg and a few others, I don't even consider it anymore. The cost of RMA'ing the basterds and the wait I have to endure for the part I had purchased to get back to me, not to mention the headaches, makes it all worth the while to buy and even drive 200 miles to get the part I need. Yes I would drive 200 miles if I had to so I wouldn't have to go through the possibility of getting crap. Every Hdd I got online was fubar'd...4 so far, took 3 weeks to get one of them back. Totally rediculous. I could have just walked down the street and got it a Best Buy for $10 more, but instead I had to wait. Saving $10 was not worth my time, and I didn't even save that much due to the cost of the RMA. I also had 2 mobos and 2 vid cards come DOA. Never again. When I buy something, "I want it NOW!" I want the item in my hands when I purchace it. Waiting sux ass!IMHO....LOL My luck from online comp part purchaces is horrible. I believe BA had a few troubles with newegg shipping him a dirty used mobo and a preiviously returned vid card also. Now there are a few exceptions....like parts I can't get anywhere else, then yes I get them online.....and case fans, but thats it. I'll buy just about anything else online not computer related though. | ||

| I check the stuff out first at a store and then find it cheaper online. And I agree with OMD_dude, sometimes the price difference really doesn't justify the wait and shipping costs. But the majority of stuff I buy I get online. I research the vendor too, there are some pretty crappy e-tailers on the web. | ||

| Speaking of which...I am considering buying a new TV offline....the ones that I'm looking at offer free shipping, so shipping costs aren't a factor. And the wait time is not a factor either, as it's for me and I really don't mind when I get it, as long as it's this year...lol | ||
