Zennzzo, Don't consider yourself the old guy, consider yourself the voice of reason. I also don't get half the stuff the young'uns post here, but I try to stay abreast of the latest trends. Yes, the PR crowd does seem to have a lot of new young members, but that's cool. New and fresh perspectives in modding.

i'm 18 and i work at Walmart. its a really sucky job but i do it. don't drink don't smoke just sit here in front of my pc and not have a life

Skate... I wouldn't worry too much. At 18, I had a crap job too (I worked at K-mart, was a waiter/cashier at a vegetarian restaurant, did data entry, became a travel agent when I hit 22 and all kinds of other work in between).

Just start sinking your cash into getting some certifications. It's what helped me get out of marketing and into network administration. Which gave me enough of a resume' for my current job as a PC repair guru. Basically, as long as you're working towards somethin', you can keep telling yourself "It's only temperary"... which can get you through a helluva lot.

Also, if you can start freelancing, you can build a resume' that way as well. There is no certification that shines like experience.

Seriously though... I can't say I'm making anything more than I used to make (yet)... but at least I like my job these days ;-)

Oh, and BTW. Drinkin' and smoking are a waste of cash. I know people (hell, I'm related to a few of 'em) that can blow two weeks pay on an all night bender. I may have my own 2 dollar a day habit (caffeine), but it's a helluva lot cheaper! Hell, cigarettes are up to like three bucks a pack now?

Damn... I'm REALLY glad I never started. I tend to run with my addictions, and both of my folks were up to three packs a day (that was a couple decades ago, they both quit).

I mean, three packs a day... let's do the math...

3 packs X average 5 bucks a pack (let's make it easy)= 15 dollars a day.

15X30 (days/month)= $450.00

450x12 (months/year)=$5,400.00

Bloody hell! A guy could buy one helluva dope rig by not smokin!

as for me,ive gone from 2 packs a day to about a pack every 3 days.
soon....very soon no more.
its a terrible habit. if youve never been addicted to nicotine,it has to be one of the worst things to get off of.my girlfriend doesnt smoke and cant understand why i cant just stop.
kudos to all that havent been drawn into it.

One of the few rules of PR is stay on topic. If you have a personal vendetta against smoking or are too poor to afford a pack of smokes, start a new thread. It's been done once before. I believe that the title of this thread is "What's your age?"

25, or about 500 in computer years. I figure 1 equals about 20 in computer years; what do you guys think? A year-old computer is a young 'un, 2-3 years old is middle-aged, 4-5 years is really old.

("When 500 years old you reach, see if you this good look!")

I'm 34, and by looking at the results, I'm older than 75% of you. And it looks like BA's the lonely guy in the 50+ category. But it's good to have fresh young faces, as long as they're in "learning" mode as opposed to "know it all" mode.
