My favorite technology that I am most excited about is money. Somehow my paychecks=bills+ $1 Imagine that.. Who ever developed that technology must have been a genius!

There is a good reason for this, the PC is MUCH more accurate when it comes to games, especialy shooters like Return to Castle Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory.
(Current GOC until DOOM3 Arrives this summer)

I depend heavily on my keyboard, that allows so many more options in configuration than the few on a gamepad or joystick, and a Mouse allows razor sharp accuracy for sniping, or in close combat.
I'm not even going to get started about the custom levels and scripting options you won't have either on a Console...

For example, HALO on PC uses a much smaller "Hit Box" for your opponent then what they used for the Console version.
For your "Average" gamer, they probably would almost be better off on a console, since there accuracy would be artificaily inflated by having a much larger target, and you also need to factor in the time it takes to set up and learn to configure a keyboard and mouse is much longer, with a harder learning curve.

For "Plug and Play" fun, consoles are great...But when you are serious about your "Fun" there is no comparison when it comes to Shooter style games

AMEN my brutha!

I'm looking forward to finding an exciting new technology from AMD in my computer...

It has this mysterious code name...

It goes by... Bartholomew? Bart? Barcelona? .... oh wait, duh... Barton.

I kid, I kid with the first 3... but I do hope a Barton "finds" its way into my rig soon

Outcast, might consider an A64 instead. The new 2800+ is only $173 now and once s939 comes out I'd bet on a price drop since everyone will want the new shizz and AMD wants to convert over to s939; if your lucky the s754 2800+ (1.8ghz) will be only around $150 and a s754 mobo will run under $100 (do now but not quality ones)

*ponder* which boards would be quality ones? I haven't been paying attention to the 64 bit stuff because I knew I wouldn't be able to afford it on the McDonalds budget (ie. red numbers or damn close to... leaning on the 'rents too much right now)

Yeah, but it also means the stuff you couldn't afford before will now slip down into your price range.

Which new tech has me going hey ?

It's definitly software based.

There is an outfit out there who has a replacement desktop for Windows, I forget the name right now, but it's showing promise. That's what I want, a new approach to the entire windows GUI. It's made by an outfit called Star Desk I think, at least that name sounds related.

The product is getting pretty nice and shows a lot of promise, the last time I tried it, it was still slow because esential it's a desktop translator so that everything you click on has to be mapped to some existing windows function. There's just an extra step to everything. I am looking for the actual replacement, not the overlay.

Anyway, that's what I want to see.

EDIT: Speak of the devil, some guys where just talking about this in another thread.

I'm currently running stardock's windowblinds...works like a charm these days with better coding and the like.

Me, I'm just waiting until they all release stuff for that new motherboard format (such as PCI-X video cards, cases, and whatnot), though I'm hoping they'll release faster anything because well, your computer can never be fast enough...

For me it would have to be PCI-Express. One PCI-Express video card has the capability to run 8 displays. That would free up a lot of room inside my case. At the moment my 3 video cards running 6 displays take up too much room, and cooling is a bit challenging.
