WTF TekX? The RIAA is allowed to monitor your internet connection??? What happened to the privacy acts? That is total bullsh*t.

I was under the impression that RIAA was only suing people. not arresting them.
Dont take this as a personal attack, just a question.

Wouldn't wiping your harddrive be destruction of personal property? Even though you cant physically hold the data in your hand, isn't that the same basis they use for stealing music?

Ion engines: I fully expect fully functional radio controlled 1/10th scale TIE fighters to be commercially available within the next decade

PC wise, I don't care ... I resent wasting money on "bleeding edge" components that'll be the norm (and cost 1/2 as much) in 6-12 months.

Gotta agree there the other stuff is just faster parts mainly the BTX form factor is going to (hopefully) help at least a little with heat control.

glad to have you back though.

I was sharing quite a bit, several thousand MP3's. It was not there legal right to wipe my drives, but I don't care, it's not like I actually stand a chance against them in court given what my charges are. I have complete backups so all is not lost.

To the RIAA, Privacy is a privilege that music pirates don't deserve. Besides, the Florida justice system is a take-no-shït slaughterhouse.

it doesn't matter what the riaa does it is inevitable. since when did downloading music become as bad as robbing a bank, or running someone down with your car, or smuggling drugs. i'm going to my calming place. going to my calming place. cookies...*munch* ok im fine now.

I am most excited about half-life 2. all i gots to say is that thing better not suck. Also I wan't to see what there is to come with water cooling and what Intel is going to do about their heat problem I heard that some of the things they are working on are going to REQUIRE watercooling!! WTF!??

MetallicaSigma... AMD isn't going in the crapper, their FX-XX line was a bad decision, it's basically just an xtra $300 for dual-channel mem since the 3400+'s performance equals the FX-51 for the most part.

With socket 939 AMD is doing 2 things right than Intel is doing wrong. AMD is going to offer PCI, AGP and PCI-E support along with DDR and DDR-2. Intel will be going PCI-E exclusivly. I think that most people would rather keep their options open. Also AMD is staying with the ATX formfactor whilst Intel is going BTX. That could be huge, either BTX catches on and AMD plays catchup or BTX doesn't stick and Intel has to catch up. SHould be interesting.

I think your right on everything except the FX-xx line.....that is there just to cater to the extreme gamer.......kinda like the Ford GT is for the car enthusiest....I don't think that line will hurt them at all......and we have to realize that it was just introduced....I think that line will get better......

I never said it would hurt them, I just sait that it was a dumb move to price them so high, dual channel DDR and the unlocked multi shouldn;t cost $300 more considering the direct performance gain is nil. If AMD had done 3000+ @ $180, 3200+ @ $250, 3400+ @ $320 and FX-51 @ $450 I think they'd sell a ton more procs, more than enough to make up for the price drop... but hey, I'm not in upper management there, two ex-Motorola guys are (the same guys that screwed over Motorla, loosing them the Apple contract to IBM...)

Then again Intel could take a page out of AMD's book too and unlock the EE's along with a little price drop (2.4C @ $140 to 3.2C @ $300 with the 3.2EE @ $500ish)..

If the companies did that.....they wouldn't sell their lower chips.......it just makes business sense that they do that....if you think about it.......they have to make a profit

I don't quite follow you highpref, I suggesed mild cuts to low end chips to fill the void left by the Athlon XP and dropping the ub3r price chips so that they'll sell quite a bit better ($900ish to $600-500 would open up their market)
