| I prefer FedEx to UPS. I had a package coming from my Grandmother once for Christmas. UPS shipped it back to her becuase they said it was undeliverable. They said they left those nice little post-it like notes saying they tried to deliver like 3 times. I called them up and complained extensivley. Needless to say it was there at my work in 2 days. I've used FedEx ever since and have never had a problem. If they tell me it will be at my door or someone else's by a certain time it is. Often it's early. With UPS it feels like you just sit and wait, and wait, and wait. Then when you run to the bathroom becuase you can't hold it anymore they show up and leave one of those little yellow post-it notes on your door. "We tried to deliver but you weren't home. If you would like to pick up your package please call 1800-UPS-Sucks." Does it sound like I am bitter towards UPS? I guess I am a little. I've had too many problems with them. Other people have had very good experiences with UPS. If it's my package Fed-Ex is who I count on. | ||

| I spent two summers working shipping/recieving/inventory at a small computer company in cleveland. Fed Ex and UPS caused the least damage to packages. UPS is usually a little cheaper (although the fed-ex saver shipping is a good service). Watch out for any Fed-ex ground services though, they broke more stuff than the post office. I really can't say much about DHL as this was a couple of years ago and they didn't exist (I know they bought airborne express, but I delt with AE maybe once a month). Generally though, if it doesn't have to get there fast I'd go with UPS. | ||

| Hmm in terms of sending out items, i'd have to say USPS. Close and their main office closes at around 10pm. Gotta love last minute mailing ![]() In terms of receiving, it would be a tossup between UPS and FedEx. Granted they both get the packages delivered, I'd say for speed UPS. When ordering from Newegg, their FedEx Shipper Saver (w/e you call it) tends to get items to my location in 4 days instead of the claimed 2-3 day shipping. UPS delivers on the correct day, but usually late at night....around 6pm. | ||

| Let me revise lol. Got my camera in today from Newegg using UPS ground. Box arrived in the morning (a first) and the first thing I noticed was that the side looked like it had been kicked in or dropped. Bleh. Camera and camera bag were fine as the box was filled with styrofoam peanuts, but things may have gone wrong..... It's never happened before with UPS, so I cant make a definite statement, but my leaning is going towards FedEx. | ||

| As an employee of UPS and close friends with employees of FedEx and UPS, I chose UPS. I've never had a problem shipping with them, either. Let em just tell ya: packages get lost and broken. FedEx loses and breaks them, UPS loses and breaks them, USPS loses and breaks them. It's kinda just a fact of life. At my job, I supervise the loading of every package originating in Nashville that is going to Ohio, Michigan, Kentucky, Georgia, and little bits from other states. At a minimum, that's 5500 packages per night. I usually have 4, maybe 5 people to sort, scan, and load them all in less than 4 hours. It's crazy. And FedEx is the same way except they do not have to scan them (no tracking #). Again, none of the companies are really better than the other (except that UPS is the best cuz we have "package tracking" ), it just all comes down to personal/professional preference. | ||

| Hate fedex. I know a guy that works for them. They almost try to break stuff. Some people put impact force recorders in their packaging, but he said they are usually broken too Some people do stupid packing jobs tho. A box flipped over on it's side on a conveyer once and a 70 pound steel disc rolled out and landed on his foot. They had taped packing paper over the open box, the thing rolled right through it. | ||
