| as some of you may know i won one of those new Xconnect psus when i first opened it all i could do was drool it is soo cool i couldn't wait to play with it cosmetically it gets 8 out of 10 it looks like a 10 out of 10 at first but when i first took it out there was a BIG scratch it wasn't very deep but i could defiantly see bear metal thankfully it was on the top were no one will ever see it but it is still there in installing it i found out that it the paint comes of very esily on top there are paches with out paint the only other thing i found was that the Molex covers fall off WAY too esily perfomancly i give it 5 out of 5 it was great maybe that is cause i have only had generic "come with the case" psu but i love it ![]() i will get pics up tomorow | ||

| Etiquette & English Gentleman | lilbowser, I've got to say that was pretty feeble - I've farted longer reviews than that ![]() What I want to know is who approved it? I thought posts in the Member Reviews section were supposed to be moderated - and rejected for a rewrite if they weren't up to scratch. Whoever let that go out in its current form needs a slap. | |

| I was a winner too and I finally installed it and it works great. Way better stable voltages than my Antec 350W TrueBlue. The only problem I found out which is human error is when I installed it I made a small scratch on the top; damnit! ah well I taped up the contacts where the PSU met the case so no more scatches are made. Plus another beef is I think this PSU is fit for a full sized tower. I have a mid sized tower and it is squeezed in there pretty good. The mobo power connector is too long for my setup. THe power connector on my mobo is right under where you connect the cables in the PSU so there was alot of access cable from the power cable to the mobo. To sum it up I like this product. I hope this sounds clear. I will try to get some pics if I can find a digital camera while I away at school. | ||

I bought one and I had some of the same probs, but on TOP of that, I could barely squeeze the cables behind the CDRW and DVD-rom drives... with both cables sticking towards each other I had to scrunch them... but it does fit! and I had like a foot and a 1/2 of extra mobo cable... lol had to stash that too... but shhh nobody knows

| I bought one of these awhile ago for the Imperial Dualie. It was too long to clear the blow hole in the case's top. I am still holding on to it for a project I plan on starting this fall. Good to know ahead of time about the scratch problems. I'll keep that in mind when I start. | ||

| I've got one of these too, and I think they are a stable power supply. I was super careful when putting it in so that I didn't scratch it. The only problem with this thing is that the main 20 pin cable is bulky, and it takes up a bit more space than it should. This is a problem if you have a smaller case, but since I have a decent sized Chenming, its no big deal. If they had a little more variety in cable options, such as longer, shorter, and maybe right angle plugs instead of the straight plugs, I think it would increase the versitility of this power supply. But I'm satisfied with mine, and would most definitely purchase another one for future builds. | ||

Follow-UP I just did some more mods on the dualie. I was able to get the XConnect in. But I have found that it runs pretty damn hot! Much hotter than the stock/sleeved PSU that came with the case. Anyone find that this PSU is running hot? Or willing to admit it? ![]()

| My 500W X-connect runs awfully warm. It's also a little long for my case. The back of the PSU just barely clears the optical drive. I wanted to put a blowhole in, but that's out of the question now, unless I mounted the fan externally. I really like the UV-reactive cables. I have two UV CCLs in my case (4" and 12"), and those things light up pretty nicely. I agree that the main power connector is a little large. I have an MSI K8N Neo2 Platinum MOBO, and the wonderful engineers at MSI put the FDD and both IDE connectors right on top of the main power connector. It's always a blast to try to get everything plugged back in during a reassembly. The PSU is very stable. It handles my rig without even breaking a sweat. I bought it to replace a stock Antec 330W PSU which was too weak to handle the components in my system. A really weird problem that I have is that the X-connect molex connector is VERY weakly connected to my optical drive (Sony DVD R/W). Pretty much if I even touch that cable it just falls out. I have it held on with a piece of electrical tape for now... Some people have reported scratches on their PSU, but mine is just fine. Once I actually lost it in my case because it was reflecting the top so well... ![]() | ||
