You just made me realize that I will need to get a Blue Ray Burner for PC (if htey ever come out) in order to watch BACKUPS of my Blue Ray movies.

Out of curiosity , I wonder if Netflix will have HD and Blue Ray movies.

I am going to see who wins the war before I invest in a new burner.

Here's a taste of opening prices: Lite-On LH-2B1S Blu-ray @ TigerDirect.com

Newegg.com - NU USB 2.0 External Blu-ray DVD Burner by Quanta + 1 Disc

Give it a couple years, Prices Will come down. It seems that the war of Blue ray vs HD-DVD is something like Xfire vs SLI... There is no drive that Will do both, as is there is no Chipset that will do both.

I will probably just get the Xbox360 HD Drive. I don't really see Blu-Ray winning. Plus the 360 drive is only $200. That pretty much solves the problem right there for me.

I'm skeptical about this whole format race in general. Most people still don't have HDTVs and see no reason to upgrade (not helped by split feeds in electronic stores) and everybody's holding off either for prices to drop or to see who has the best movie selection... but if nobody buys then these problems won't get any better.

Remember DVD-Audio vs. Super Audio
