I have a little dot micro+ in conjunction with my Iriver h10 and Sony MDR-V6's.

I believe an amp will allow you have better clarity at higher volumes especially when paired with high quality headphones(High Sennheisers, Grados, some of the good Koss sets).

bingo.

The basic amp on the DAP is generally not nearly enough to get the full expereince of your headphones.

I fear that aluminum wouldnt be the most trusty thing to launch at someone or anything in general, it would probally bend, and then in turn peirce or scracth the Zune/Ipod

I want a titanium MP3 player, and i want a high quality amp in the damn thing. I'll continue to hold out on MP3 players until they make a "Bose" portable with headphones, not in-ear B$
