Default Intel Core i7 Extreme Edition Q965 Results

They seems pretty decent - 12.75s for SuperPi 1m @ Stock - but I would have liked to see some game tests.

Lol, they had em on for pre-order at OCUK a few days ago....cheapest i7 was £258, cheapest X58 board was £234, and cheapest triple channel DDR3 kit was £258. F*cking mental pricing, seriously.

Yeah that does sound a bit pricey, though when I got my E6600 (in October 2006) there were £200, my BadAxe was £140 and I spent £180 on 2GB DDR2! I wish I still have a job...

Those prices will fall drastically soon, they only do that for the super upgrade-itis people like Dave who just can't wait for the latest and greatest (and have no regard for the effects on their bank account).

You'll have to (or at least I want you to) do me a deal on your X3350 when you buy one of these then Reflux!

I don't see them dropping very soon, cos Intel are waiting until this time next year to release the lower-end i7s, and are making them a different socket, so you either have to go big or go home. Which is f*cking gay. This is why we need a decent AMD, come on lads, keep your end up.

Yeah I'll keep you in mind when I upgrade my rig Zaltan. But it probably won't be for a while...not until the whole upgrade costs around £400. £700+ is just a joke.

AMD's Deneb (basically the Barcelona revision) sounds promising; there are some good results of overclocking ES chips.

The 24x133 is because of the shift to an integrated memory controller like what AMD have. The FSB is dead!

All Athlon 64's had (do they still make them?) Memory Controllers so it would have been S754 (or S940, the Opteron one).

Deneb (45nm Phenom's) seems to overclock nicely! It's meant to perform about 15% better clock for clock than the older Phenom's too. So maybe they can give Intel a run for the there money this time. I'd be up for a Deneb is there cheap like the current Phenom's.
