Default Commodore is back

Looks like someone bought the old Commodore name, and is producing some interesting PCs.

Boat missed.

What made Commodore a success was mass-production. The VIC 20 and 64 were dirt-cheap and robust machines, and by selling them by the millions, they created a console-like target for developers.

Nothing about this product achieves these goals.

They're just another boutique PC firm, who bought a famous name. If I want a $4,500 PC with a painting of Deshwitat Rudbich on it, I can get it fifteen other places.

It's kind of like the marketing types that keep the Atari name going - despite the fact they have no pre-Warner Bros. employees like Bushnell involved at all.

Still - you would have thought that a company called Commodore would have produced a PC-in-a-keyboard kind of thing instead of a so-so Alienware clone.

Boat missed - and by a Commodore no less

Boat missed? Post missed, I think. This was posted monthes ago. They do have some pretty unique designs though, id quite happily take one of those Breadboxes off their hands.

C64 was my second (after Spectrum+) computer. It has 64kB of RAM and floppy disc drive capacity of 128kB or 256kB (doublesided?). I think it was 128kB. Somebody remembers?

Aye I posted about this early last year on A4T. I'ld love to get my hands on one.
Could you even guess at the size of the waiting list for one of these babies to review?
It's BIG.
