Not really surprising, but it isn't all bad news. The Phenom is still a decent improvement over K8 and it has a few things that Intel could learn from, such as the Overdrive utility that allows all your BIOS adjustments to be made in Windows. There are some fairly encouraging gaming and media encoding results too.

Its nice, not better, but ummm, nice.

I may buy one just because, hopefully the 9900's are actually better steppings in jan-feb....

wheres the PR rating if you want to make a 2.8 and 3.0?

Ill wait to see if they overclock well. I reckon if they made them 25-30% cheaper than the equivalent Intel part, they'd re-gain a lot of the market.

I wont be rushing to get one with thier pricing

just a google search of pricing yeilded

Q6600 - lowest $150 for 2.4Ghz
Pnenom - lowest - $200+ 2.2Ghz

simple math really

I expected this kind of Performance in Phenom, I might wait, But I'll upgrade to AM2 Dual Core First, Then, As Time, hardware and Software Permit, Dual Core, Just so all the bugs and programming will be fixed out of games today.

You need to click the links, all those prices are over $300 in USD.....

The lowest price is at newegg 260$
