Default New HDD read head technology to boost data density up 5 fold

Current read heads utilize magneto-resistance effect which is capable of reading data which is about 200 gigabits per square inch while this new technology utilizes magneto-electric effect which is capable of reading data of about 1 terabit per square inch. These numbers are theoretical at the moment and nanoscale problems could hinder the production (and raise the cost for some time) but you never know.

When you've got 56 U320 SCSI drives all striped with a 4gbps fiber channel backplane with 4 separate paths, access times are of no concern to you
