Talking OCZ intros low-latency DDR2 Reaper memory kits

OCZ intros low-latency DDR2 Reaper memory kits

While the OCZ employees in Leipzig are busy showing off the company's latest cooling creations, those in OCZ's HQ in Sunnyvale, California are announcing anew memory kit for those who love their RAM served with an extra dish of low-latency. The new PC2-6400 Reaper HPC CL3 series are the latest addition to the heat-piped Reaper line-up and, in addition to being certified for Nvidia's Enhanced Performance Profiles (EPP), they come with a promise to work at 800MHz at CL3.

The PC2-6400 Reaper HPC CAS 3 modules will be available in 2GB ( 2x1024MB ) dual channel kits which will, of course feature a lifetime warranty.

For more info visit OCZ's site.

Sounds awesome, but the Core architecture benefits much more from lots of bandwidth than low latencies. Still, might mean you can overclock these further than the standard Reapers.

They will probably be Micron D9 stuff, so chances are they will scale the same as all the other Reaper kits. CAS3 @ DDR2-800 isn't that special though, people have been doing it for ages (GEIL,Team,G.Skill).
