Intel to have nine CPUs in its 45nm desktop line-up
AMD-bashing Intel Corporation is preparing an invasion like no other for the first quarter of 2008 with the plan being to unleash a total of nine 45nm-built processors for the desktop segment.
According to sources inside motherboard manufacturers cited by
Digitimes Intel's upcoming desktop armada will contain no less than nice processors, ten if you're counting the quad-core Extreme
CPU that will be clocked at 3.33
GHz and arrive in late Q4 2007. To protect its desktop market share from the invading Phenom X2 and X4s, Intel will have five new dual-core Wolfdales and four quad-core Yorkfields ready to roll.
The dual-core offer will consists of processors with a
FSB of 1333MHz and clocked at 3.16, 3.0, 2.83 and 2.66
GHz with one last lower
CPU not accounted for but with a probable clock of 2.33
GHz. All CPUs will have 6
MB of L2 cache.
