While more portable than CDs I guess, the manufacturing costs are higher and quality will likely be worse. What's the point?

I think the idea is that you would dump the tracks to your mp3 player and then toss the memory stick, or reuse it. I can't find anywhere where they say what the bitrate of the files will be. I'm not a stickler about audio quality though.
