Default metal specks enamel or laquer?

does anyone know if duplicolor metal specks paint is an enamel or a laquer? basicly i want two colors or metal specks paint on the same piece which requires masking. do i have to wait 5 days for the first to cure or can i do it sooner? do i have to wait again to spray clear coat enamel?

If I remember correctly, then it's an enamel. I wouldn't think you should have to wait 5 days. I would wait maybe 2 days or so, just press lightly with your finger and see how soft it is after setting overnight. That should give you an idea of how hard it is. On the clearcoat, you should wait at least overnight. The bottom layer doesn't have to be completely hardened, but you don't want to hold the can real close as it might make it run. Hope this helps and you might check out the guide section for some helpful tips. Don't forget to post pics when your done painting!

Its laquer. If it was enamel, it would say. Most paints are laquer. Depending where you live, wait 1 Day before sanding.

laquer solevent cures ie. it dries by having the chemical solevents evaporate where as enamel chemicaly cures by having a chemical reaction. you can redissolve laquer with its origional solevent where as enamel wont.
i have some panels with laquer black with effex (laquer clear with glitter) and metal specks blue on the other and i want metal specks green on what is currently black but im afraid it will come off since the black is chipping and some effex came off with denatured alcohol where as the metal specks did not blemish in contact with alcohol. i guess i should play it safe and wait five days but then i would have my computer sitting in pieces on a static mat in my dorm while my case pieces sit at home curing.
