Painted my keyboard

I didn't think that this was considered to be a mod enough to start a worklog, so I just put it here...

I got tired of looking at my plain old HP keyboard, so I decided to do a little painting on it.
Here are a couple before pics...

And some after pics...

I didn't feel confident enough to actually change the LED's, but I painted them with a sharpie and instead of amber they are now orange red and green.

So what do you guys think? I sanded, primed, painted, sanded some more, and put a couple clear coats on. It is by far the best paint job I have done.

dude, is a nice mod but come on ..... is actually harder to paint that to solder led's ....

cool glossy finish tho ...

I did get the look I was going for and it's much nicer to look at now!

you know you could mask off some of the open areas with tape and make a cool grey design on the keyboard.. kinda to tie in the grey keys.. maybe a cool tribal design..

Sweet, that sounds like a good idea bro! I just might do that, or maybe some flames or something like that. Do you know where I can get a picture of some small flames or some tribal? I would print it out and then make a stencil. Thanks for the suggestion.

The 1st time I painted my keys they looked good for a while.
When I finally bought some paint just for plastic they looked
a lot better :-)
