I've been spraying RhinoLinings for quite some time, and honestly, I really don't think that would work so well. If you were to completely dissassemble the laptop, you could spray just the case, but the whole thing, assembled would be a real risky deal.

I think if he was careful with his taping of all the essentials...............keyboard, screen, i/O ports and DVD tray, it could work.................

Bedliner spray would give it a textured look. Just cover up everything like hp15 said and clean it up nice with rubbing alcohol. Use the dupont brand bedliner spray. It's like $8 a can but the results are nice.

The problem with bedline is the adhesive that needs to be sprayed. Plus you have to scoof the surface for it to bond properly. I've seen bedliner eat the paint away because they used the wrong adhesive, so nned to be careful.

The duplicolor or dupont stuff just sprays on like paint. You just prep the surface by cleaning it or sanding it. No adhesives or anything like that. Then it dries and looks textured.

Maybe this is too little too late, but I remembered Fleckstone textured paint. Comes in a rattle can, has a whole palette of colors, and probably cost you less $$$ and time than getting spray-on bedliner applied...

Usually find these at Walmart/K-Mart, hardware stores, so probably very easy to track down.

Good luck!

i was thinking more along the lines of a thick rhino lining type bedliner... its rubbery, and is very durable. i would only be painting it on the outside of the case only.... the inside of the laptop is going to be getting a vinyl dye treatment.
