Default respirator?

Well, I'm trying to decide which respirator i should get. I'm thjinking i'll get a 3M brand respirator. After painting and using vinyl dye in the recent, i've decided i want to get a mask...the fumes are pretty bad when using vinyl dye and i notice the effects of the fumes pretty good. Some input would be nice.

I use -don't laugh- a "standard issue" NATO "gas mask"... still have it from my militairy service...
all I did was exchange the filter unit (with a fresh one..)... works like a charm!

Army Surplus! But.. seriously...

The 3M "lineup" should be just fine... you can buy those at most automotive/paint related shops...

I use an MSA Comfo Elite resperator. Though I don't think it will filter airborne fumes, it's the nicest dust mask I've ever owned. Perhaps there are some different filter cartriges that can be used with smoke and fumes and such.

EDIT- just checked it out. I have a standard high effeciency filter for mine, but you can get combo filters or chemical filters which filter out airborne fumes and areosols.

heh heh heh - +1 vote for the 3M from me!

the avatar speaks for itself

Make sure it can deal with organic vapours and it'll do the job fine
