| Okay, I have five black fans that I want to paint and have them react under UV light. I want the color to be a red (blood red would be nice) under the light. I have some generic ACE Hardware fluorescent paint (between orange and red). Would this stuff react? Also, would nail varnish make it darker under the light? Thanks for any help in advance. | ||

| Several online retailers carry UV-sensitive/reactive paint. There are a variety of colors, and most (if not all) of the paints are water-soluble, so if you fudge up the job, you can clean up and start over again. I've just gotten some blue UV paint I'm gonna try on the inside of a window, and some assorted other parts. As far as a deep dark red, my money's on painting whatever with as deep a gloss red as you like (following the case painting guides may help even more), then possibly using the red UV paint over top (since it's clear in normal light), then possibly a gloss clearcoat to top it all off... If anyone knows this NOT to be a good idea, PLEASE let us all gain from your knowledge and experience. | ||
