Painting steal inside a Chieftech/Chenming

2nd Update: Okay.. so now its painted.... comments? BLING is all i can say.. heh! im happy :-D i didnt have enough time to do the stencil.. which was kinda gay now that i think of it.. no offense to homosexuals out there.. anyways.. yeah i just painted it spur of the moment when i had a chance.. primed, and single coat of RustOleum GLOSS Apple Red.... color 1966, yeah, single coat cuz thats all it took and i'm down to $2.13 in the bank, lol and the paint itself is 2.80 something.. anyways.. comments :-D

Just about any Rust-oleum or Krylon will work. Don't forget to rough the surface up with steelwool or sandpaper first, and I personally believe there is no such thing as "Too much clear coat."

EDIT: I think that is the absoulute best cable amangement job I've seen from a noob, bling to you.

lol anyway... just you wait n see.. i've got tons of ideas on making the cables "Disappear".. i figured i'd wait till i had to take everything out to do it.. so yeah.. that'll be done whenever im done painting.. anybody wanna put their 2 cents in on what color? lol i'm stuck between red and blue... as you can tell inside the case i guess....

hmm at walmart they have a CHROME blue...and it looks..friggen awsome when u use the special primer...

The paint is called metal cast, and the primer is called Metal Cast Ground coat and you can use anything with it (ie paint plastics and it will look like metal) it doesnt really make it metal but it looks awsome

they of course have other colors, I ve seen green, blue, purple, and I think red...

btw..whats wrong with the way it looks now? I mean dude..its looks like.. O_O AWSOME..I envy u..I always wanted a Chenming case..but I got a full tower mod in progress =D

Here's some input: 150x600 (zenz was wrong) or smaller - no exceptions.

If it's not changed the big duck is gonna have your butt in a sling...consider this fair warning...

lol thanx for the compliment on the wiring.. like i said it actually normally looks better... Any other input on color/brand of paint?????

Unless you're going for Captain America, I'd stick with blue on the inside. Orange works well with blue, too. Rough it up with some steel wool and don't go hog wild with the paint and it should look nice.

And paint...done right, generally doesn't just rub off. It will scratch, but if you're careful when putting in your components, you shouldn't have to be too worried. The only place that I see that could be a possible problem with the paint would be the drive cages...the paint WILL rub off there, but who cares? It's not like anyone can see it.

i think either black or orange would look best. personaly i love orange and blue, and black goes with anything. besides, if you do blue inside and it dosnt match near perfectly to the outside, itl look mismatched.

I normally every color I like and try them out on something like a piece of scrap and see how it actually looks. When I do a new paint job I like to take all my spray cans and prime a piece of cardboard and spray them all right next to each other to get a good feel for them.

hey i was about to get a chieftec dragon (without the window so i can make a cool shaped one, and probably end up botching it and buying a new one) is it a good case?

i think you should redo the lights and make it bright green! green and black, coolio!
