Default UV paintjob help.

Hi everyone, I recently bought some UV spray paint for the inside of my case (Super Lan Boy by Antec) and I wanted to know if i had to do something first since it is an aluminum case. I read the tutorial on preping the case for the outside but what about the inside? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Umm besides having everything out of it... wipe it down with paint thinner to get any oils up... And take out anything that is removable (ei: drive bays) as you might someday get new ones or something like that. Also if you take those out you can paint them better as well! Hope that helped!

What kind of UV Paint? Is it the kind that washes off with water? If so then you may want to be careful with handling it when finished. Use about 4-5 coats for an even and bright reaction to UV lighting.

Well, the site I ordered from www.svc.com does not have the UV paint anymore so they took that out of my order....does anyone know where I could purchase some? Red UV Spray Paint is what I would like to have for the inside of my aluminum case. Thanks.

That red is pretty orange, even after several coats, i dunno if you could find better, but just a heads up. I painted my laptop w/ that stuff...

You might want to prime it as well as wiping it out with paint thinner. The finish on the outside of the lanboys doesn't hold paint very well AFAIK. They have a primer called Bulldog or something like that at Auto Zone that helps adhesion quite a bit.

I don't want to paint the outside of the lanboy - how about the inside, does that hold paint very well.

I realize you want to paint the inside. Being that the inside is the same material as the outside, it may be a pain to paint. I have yet to deal with aluminum, so I can only go by what I have read and that is that the Super Lanboys don't hold paint well. If I were you, I would research it on Google and see what others have done. No need to waste a can of paint if you can get the info up front.

Edit: Check this out.
