Most DIY places stock Plastikote ... but there's no way I'd recommend that after my experiences with it ![]() Almost any car parts place will have acrylic aerosols ... Halfords have their own brand, cheaper/smaller operations will have a good range of some other brand, I'd particularly recommend "Hycote" - the coverage isn't particularly good, but you can get excellent results with it - check out the purple bits on the attached ![]()

If I remember right, the painting order on the tank went something like: Strip to bare metal rub down 2 coats high build primer (beige) rub down 1 coat high build primer (beige) 1 coat grey primer rub down 2 coats grey primer rub down 1 coat grey primer 2 coats paint rub down 3 coats paint 2 coats lacquer rub down 2 coats lacquer rub down 2 coats lacquer rub out So 18 coats in all on the tank (the wheels, plastic & fiberglass bits got fewer coats & less rubbing down), + a whole lot of rubbing down (1200 grit for the later stages - I wet, soap & rub 2 sheets together before use to take of the high points that would otherwise leave deep scratches)
