| Hi, everybody, my name is Alex. I'v been reading PR for about 7 or 8 months and have been modding for the last... 4 or so, I did do a few stupid ugly mods about a year ago, but yeah... those weren't.. mods, so I got a new case, which over the last 4 months I have done quite a bit to and can this time be proud of (check list at bottom of epic post). Anway I was gonna wait untill I had batteries for my camera to post my first post (which was 2 months ago) but I'm really itching to complete this next mod, so I thought I'd ask for a little advice; the only removable components of the case itself are 1 of my side panels, the front bezel, and the 3.5" section of my drive cages, can/should I still paint the inside of my case as I don't think I will be able to cover all sides of my case (other side of 5 1/4 drive cage because of the second panel not coming off) which in my theory will make the paint susceptible to peeling as there will be edges of paint and unpainted area. and am I gonna have to sand the inside of my case? If anybody has any good guides they would be greatly greatly appreciated, and I'm glad to be on here finally. the mods I have already completed are: Custom cut (technically) 2 plexi windows on top of case Custom cut 80mm fan hole for window on top of case Custom cut plexi window on psu Installed "heavy duty" handles on top of case. Led fan change inside psu Power and HD Led relocation on front bezel (with chrome led holders) PSU Split loom Cut purple and black plastic tribal underlay for side case window Bezel audio port Bezel ir eye for remote control Added red leds to inside vent on bezel Just completed Vinyl dyed cd writer and slot dvd drive covers Almost Done: External temp sensor for cpu (and lighting it) Attempted: Mouse led change mod: I probably burned the pcb though. Planned: Paint inside and drive cages flat or glossy black, chrome 5 1/4 drive cases Change leds for disc drives Add Speakers to case Last edited by Alx; 31-July-04 at 08:41 PM.. | ||

Hey thanks for the welcome Cyno, Yeah, I was thinking about putting them on the two top most drive bays so they are above my two optical drives which I think magnets will not affect, the speakers I picked are 75w I think (don't have them here at the moment) and they are the standard crappy little beige speakers everybody got when you bought your first pentium one and there was all that crazy "multimedia time!" hype. So they shouldn't be around my hd's... but maybe it isn't so great that they are near my cpu and psu. And I'll put a grounding wire to be sure. But I will probably post again when the time comes. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||

| First off welcome to PR.You wont need to sand the inside of the case, but you will need to scuff it. By scuff i mean a scotchbrite pad. You can get them at a hardware store and they come in different grades like sandpaper. Use the grey, I think thats Ultra fine. Once you do that the paint will stick.
