Default Mouse Paint Mod

I went out and bought a few kits of Duplicolor Mirage Red/Blue for my bf's case that I'm modding right now for him as a suprise gift. Decided to test this paint out on an old mouse I had lying around, by the way I've never spray painted before as you can probrably tell...;-)

If anyone wants I can write up a quick tutorial on how to paint your mouse, but I think everyone here knows how to lol anyway here are some pics that I just wanted to post!

Click on thumbnail for larger view :

This is a pic with flash, midnight blue-ish I love the sparkles lol

Without flash now you can see how the color changes on it

Hope ya guys think that its kinda cool!

Edit: Forgot to ask, if anyone has tips on painting the side of something, because I think the bezel of the case is going to be the toughest part of the painting to get the spray paint on evenly and not pool or drip ect on the edges. I'm going to look if theres any topics on my question though, so far no luck on finding one yet!

It looks realy good in the pics, hard to see flaws unless you see it in person.

Nice job

Edit: The key to painting a vertical surface is lots of thin multiple coats, with time to dry in between

Check out Insoms guide on painting with an airbrush and with a rattlecan. He lays it down pretty well and lets you know where you might run into problems ahead of time. Good luck!

A chick that mods???wtf.....hehe jk

Sparky don't assume that it is a girl, all that was said was that they have a boy friend. In today's world that doesn't guarantee anything. I have no problem if it is a boy or girl, but don't assume anything.

LoL @ Sparky yep I'm a girl who mods, what has the world come to?! Hahaha jk BTW thanks for the link on the How-To! Lot's of info that I could use!

I'm starting to think maybe I should add "I AM A GIRL MODDER" to my sig just so that people don't get confused. What do you guys think?

DuplexEmotions: Definately pick up the Duplicolor Mirage at Walmart, I went shopping around and AutoZone had a smaller sized kit for $19, same with Pep Boys and AutoParts. At Walmart the spray cans were larger and $17.98 for each kit. I bought two because I hear it takes 2-4 kits to paint a case. The more mid-coat the better the effect

I'm thinking my keyboard might need it.... I've been getting odd looks for having the MX700, fairly kickass rig, and an old IBM Model M.

Cool! I'd definately go for it, the only problem would be painting the keys what if you don't remember what is where? Maybe they sell keyboard decals?? But It'd look really nice on a keyboard anyway!

I went to hobby lobby, got rub-on transfers, and buried them under flat clear. It works.

Or you could use a paint pen.

Really? I never knew that actually sold that kind of stuff at a hobby place, well then DuplexEmotions I think it would be an awesome idea to do It'd give your keyboard a unique look to it.

I dug up a Rev. 1 Model M, it's getting bleached right now in preparation for cutting and painting. I don't know if it's getting duplicolored or not, but believe me when I say this will be pimpin.
