Default UV paint on mobo/cards?

sup guys,

still working on my first mod, its a run of the mill UV mod so far. I'm painting resistsors and dotting my cards with UV paint, im too lazy to wait for UV paint to come through the mail so i tried walmart.....

I got a pack of 10 color highlighters..this is great for lining the edges of cards/mobo and dotting the cards at the soldering points... but bad for big spaces...so i got some paint

i got some acrylic paint and knew itd prolly be bad to try without priming..but i painted it on some resistors on teh mobo....it did pretty good on teh small ones but on the large ones as youd expect..the paints too thin. It's decnet paint, just some glow in the dark uv reactant paint from walmart and it glows fine, but what should i prime it with? just glob on some normal white paint..let it dry..then do a few coats of the UV?

also...i found a bottle of glow in the dark medium....supposedly you paint a color then put a layer of the glow in the dark medium on top of it, has anyone tried this? i doubt it works at all but thats a lot of color possibilities...what if you mix it together? prolly too faint.

thx
cd

hmm I would be carefull just painting this and that...I personally would go for an over all coat...but this takes special care... I would try something like a conformal spray and then see if that clear/uv paint would stick to that..I suspect you wouldn't see too much in the way as a heat barrier, but who knows you can always use electrical cleaner to remove it all. also i would take care to cover ALL contacts before spraying anything...just my thoughts nothing proven...I want to try it, but would rather you have a go @ it first

I've done it, all you do is apply more than one coat until your satisfied with the results. I did 2-3 coats on mine (letting it dry between coats) and have not had any problems with it. The type of paint I got online will wash off with water. Good luck with your mod!
