| Well, I took a case fan apart last night. Was planning to paint it, but remembered that in a dorm its really hard to run across spray paint. Then, remembered that I was in a co-ed dorm, and decided to go down the hall and ask a girl for some nail polish. (I admit, I was desperate to get it painted) After recieving a weird look, and even after explaining it to her, I was still looked upon in the usual geek/weirdo fashion. But no matter, I was going to get that thing painted. Granted it looks like crap when its not moving, it does give a nice effect when the fan is in action. I'm not posting asking about the merits of fingernail polish being used on computer components. I just caught the bug, and wanted to share some of my first work. Thanks for understanding. rezzix | ||

| i'm doing fine. i'll be doing even better on August 16th. Not only does my summer school class end that day, but I get paid. Then i'm ordering the guts to into my new case. amd athlon xp 2000+, asus board, 512 ram. already have a geforce 4 ti4600 with 128ram just waiting to meld with the xp 2000+. I can't wait. No longer will I be forced to run everything at 640 by 480 res so that my p3 can keep up with the geforce4. I'll get some pics of my new system as I get it built. All the pieces are at my parent's house, since I don't trust fed ex delivering to the dorms. So here's my before picture | ||

| Dude I have that case....the only decent feature on that Inwin is the removable motherboard tray. Hope you get a new case for all that hardware....ventilation is scarce. I hate how you have to remove the entire shell to open the case also. Someone actually modded that case with a window using a blowtorch or something. It was just added to the case gallery recently. | ||

| Rezzix, I too have nail polish within my rig! It looks fanfeckintastic! UV active blue on my pci/agp card edges, and three discreet points on each blade of my dual 80mm exhaust fans. When the blacklights are on: 1. my card edges glow blue 2. the dual exhausts in my top window have three concentric glowing blue circles 3. all my water tubes etc. glow blue with dyelight in the water. Also, the nail polish is clear, so in normal light you don't even see it! | ||

| Blue LEDs in a keyboard is fairly cheap, and if you can use a soldering iron (They aren't hard to use) you're all set. Also, windows are very cheap to make. As long as you have a jigsaw, dremel, or whatever cutting device, you can go out and buy a nice sized slab of acrylic for like $6 at your local hardware store. As for molding you can buy it online cheap at Bestbyte for about $1 per foot (Need about 3 feet), or you can grab some C-strip molding (Door edge molding) at your local auto parts store (Pep Boys) for about $3. So if you have a dremel or jigsaw, you could put a window in your case for about $9 and an hour or two of your work. | ||
