| I am doing a pretty basic run of the mill UV themed system, but I had an idea that would add to the overall look. I want UV reactive heat spreaders for the ram, and I have yet to find any. Question #1 is: Does anyone make UV reactive heat spreaders for DDR memory? If so who makes it and where can I buy it. Question #2 is: If such a product doesn't exist, would using UV paint basically reverse the effect of the heat spreaders. I would imagine this would lock in heat and not allow for any disappation. Anyone got any better ideas? | ||

| Painting does reduce heat dissapation, but ram doesn't get very hot and doesn't need to be cooled much. If your still worried about it but cant stand your ram being plain, theres something new you could try, ram lights. Not functional like corsair's, but still pretty cool. Or, i dont know how far along you are, but you could go with a DFI Lan Party mobo, a little pricey, but all the slots, ports and sockets on 'em, ide, ram, pci etc, are UV reactive. | ||

Yup, i've seen it done. Most paints are non-conductive once they've dried, so you should be fine. Make sure your powered down and unplugged when you do it, in case of spillage, but it should be fine. You might also want to check out this, and maybe this (less hardcore). | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
