Some people would recommend you sand the surfaces on the inside with 400-grit sandpaper, but it's practically impossible to sand all the nooks and crannies. Sand what you can, then buy some mineral spirits and clean everything off with that, before you prime and paint it. Mineral spirits (or wax/grease remover) cleans the metal so there's nothing to get in the way of the primer making a good bond. After a few coats of primer, spray on the color of your choice in thin, even coats. Don't go too heavy or you'll get ugly runs and paint blobs.

| I think Coelacanth pretty much covered it. I will only add wiping it down with a Tack Rag just before actually painting it. You can get one for a couple dollars at any auto parts store. It will pick up all the lint and other small particles that may still be clinging on for dear life :-) | ||

| I've tried the inside before, its extremely hard to get into every place, but take apart as much of it as you can, remove-able motherboard trays are a little easier to paint the inside. Everyone else pretty much summed it up, let us know how it goes. | ||

A lot of auto paints suggest spraying successive thin coats of color within minutes of each other instead of waiting for each coat to dry...follow the directions on the can. ![]()
