Default Networking questions...

Okay...so, I just bought this Belkin 4 port router, because it was on sale at office max. I acn link two computers together just fine, and that's really all I wanted it for.

I have dialup, and I want to be able to share that connected across the router...it has an uplink port. I am going to have my server computer dial the internet, and provide service for my computer. It has two network cards...but I can't get this to work. How would I do that?

Thanks

You don't need the uplink port, just have the one computer dial the internet and then enable Internet Connection Sharing. I'm not sure of the procedure, but now you have something to google

well, yeah...I knew about ICS..but I enable it, and nothing happens. I think the router is trying to assign an IP to a card wtih a static ip or 192.168.0.1..but it can't...dunno..

Have you configured your router yet?

most let you choose if you want to configure the router as a DHCP server or if you wan't to manually configure IP's.

EDIT
You have to configure both machines for ICS one as the host and one as the client.
